I know there are plenty of Valentine's Day skeptics out there, but I am not one of them! I've always loved Valentine's Day, regardless of whether or not I've had a particular "Valentine" to share the day with. Why? Probably because my mom always made it a fun holiday for my sister and me -- or, I should say, makes it a fun holiday! We still get Valentine's gifts from her -- it's one of my favorite times of the year.
It's never too early to start teaching your kids that there are many kinds of love, and that the love of family will always be there, even if the romantic kind may come and go. While gifts certainly aren't necessary to achieving that, they sure make it more fun! It's not about spending a lot of money. Your kids may never remember exactly what was on their pajamas growing up, but what they will remember is how you made them feel.
Above are just a few of my favorite items for this Valentine's Day. I don't know what little girl wouldn't love these adorable Star Wars Valentine's jammies, or what kiddo wouldn't squeal over a mug of pink strawberry hot chocolate served at a new Love You to the Moon and Back placemat. If you don't want to spend any extra money, a few drops of red food coloring in a glass of milk will do just the trick. And, clearly my love of poppers is evident again with this fun Love Popper Pig!
